Battle Chess

Youth: Open
Adviser: Open

Location: Outdoors
Participation: Team
Equipment: Light
Synopsis: Human chess played with regular chess rules. When one piece comes in contact with another, the defending piece can choose either a physical or mental challenge. The winner of the challenge gets to keep the square.

Rules: In the event there aren't 32 players, some marker will be used for the pawns. An attacked or attacking pawn marker is represented by the player he started out in front of. As players are removed from the game they replace pawn markers so everyone gets maximum time to play. The physical challenge is pushing another player to the ground or out of the battle square. The mental challenge is a trivia question.
