Winter Camp Introduction

Congratulations! You have just made one of the most important decisions in your life. By choosing to attend Winter Camp, you have proven yourself to be a man of discerning taste.

Winter Camp is a universe of its own. The experiences shared during Winter Camp will be different and exciting. While a schedule is maintained, each participant has the freedom to explore the wonders of this universe.

Another unique aspect of Winter Camp is its departure from convention. Although health and safety are key concerns, Winter Camp has only a few simple rules. Besides these rules, you are expected to act in accordance with the principles of the Scout Oath and Law.

The single most important rule is to get involved. Every year, Winter Camp offers a wide range of activities. If you choose not to get interested in them, you can't expect to have a good time

Everyone is expected to do his share towards making Winter Camp a success. A duty roster will be used at Winter Camp. The duty roster is used to ensure an even distribution of labor.

Much of the equipment we use at Winter Camp is very valuable, and very little of it is ours. For this reason, we ask that you treat all the equipment with greater care than you would your own.

This manual was prepared so that you can read it and be properly prepared for Winter Camp. With its detailed history and special information, it should really stimulate your interest in the rich Winter Camp tradition.

After experiencing Winter Camp, we're sure that you will be back for our next Winter Camp. In fact, we expect you to help plan next year's event!
